Consultation on the Proposal from Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council

Consultation on 4 unitary councils:

  • Unitary Authority 1: Newcastle-under-Lyme  

  • Unitary Authority 2: Cannock Chase, South Staffordshire, and Stafford 

  • Unitary Authority 3: Staffordshire Moorlands, and Stoke-on-Trent 

  • Unitary Authority 4: East Staffordshire, Lichfield and Tamworth

As of 5 February 2026, within the Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent area, Stoke-on-Trent City Council had received in-principle Exceptional Financial Support to support their 2025/26 budget. This council will not necessarily be in receipt of Exceptional Financial Support in future financial years.
