Consultation on Proposals for Local Government Reorganisation in Derbyshire and Derby

There are separate sections for each proposal: 

Consultation on the proposal from Derbyshire County Council for 1 unitary council: 

• A single unitary council: Amber Valley, Bolsover, Chesterfield, Derby, Derbyshire Dales, Erewash, High Peak, North-East Derbyshire, and South Derbyshire  

Consultation on the proposal from Amber Valley Borough Council for 2 unitary councils: 

• Northern Derbyshire: Amber Valley, Bolsover, Chesterfield, Derbyshire Dales, High Peak, and North-East Derbyshire 

• Southern Derbyshire: Derby, Erewash, and South Derbyshire 

Consultation on the proposal from Bolsover District Council and North-East Derbyshire District Council for 2 unitary councils. This includes a request to split existing district council areas between the proposed new councils:

• Northern Derbyshire: Bolsover, Chesterfield, Derbyshire Dales, High Peak, North-East Derbyshire plus 21 parishes from Amber Valley  
• Southern Derbyshire: Derby, Erewash, South Derbyshire plus 14 parishes from Amber Valley 

Consultation on the proposal from Chesterfield Borough Council, Derby City Council, Erewash Borough Council, and High Peak Borough Council for 2 unitary councils. This includes a request to split existing district council areas between the proposed new councils:

• Northern Derbyshire: Bolsover, Chesterfield, Derbyshire Dales, High Peak, North-East Derbyshire plus 21 parishes from Amber Valley  

• Southern Derbyshire: Derby, Erewash, South Derbyshire plus 14 parishes from Amber Valley  

Consultation on the proposal from South Derbyshire District Council for 2 unitary councils: 

• Northern Derbyshire: Bolsover, Chesterfield, Derbyshire Dales, High Peak, and North-East Derbyshire 

• Southern Derbyshire: Amber Valley, Derby, Erewash, and South Derbyshire
