Greater Cambridge Development Corporation: Consultation
Overview
Greater Cambridge is one of Britain’s most important engines of growth and is a globally leading centre of innovation. But its success has brought challenges, and the scale and complexity to enable delivery of nationally significant growth has surpassed the capacity and powers of existing institutions.
The Government believes the creation of a new Urban Development Corporation in Greater Cambridge would enable a transformational long-term approach to delivering high-quality sustainable growth. Working in partnership with local councils and communities, it would have the ability to enable an infrastructure first approach to delivering large strategic sites, for the benefit of both existing and new communities alike.
